Hello! My name is Kelsey Ihringer (like EYE-ringer), but please just call me Kelsey.
I grew up in Fargo, North Dakota, and graduated from a tiny college across the river. I have a BS in Communication Studies and Literature Education, which is just another way of indicating my studies to become a high or middle school English teacher. I also have a BA in Psychology. This degree was somewhat accidental—I became very involved in undergraduate research and realized I was in the Psychology department too much to not do something about it. After I graduated I moved to South Korea to teach English as a second language. One year later, I landed in San Antonio ready to teach some more.
Beyond teaching, I have several hobbies and interests to entertain myself. I enjoy watching movies, playing video games (Skyrim!), reading, cooking, art and spending time with my family. I love to travel and do it every chance I get.
My teaching style is like that of a coach mentoring her number one player. Athletes must practice in order to tune their skills and become top players. My tutoring sessions will provide students with the practice needed to master the unique ways in which they learn and to conquer their academic goals.
Please feel free to contact me for any questions or to set up a tutoring session!
