I have recently graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a BS in Physics. My passion for teaching comes from the many great teachers I've had in the past. They showed me how just a few insightful words can bring clarity to a subject and form the proper connections between concepts and applications. My goal as a tutor is to be as helpful to my students as my teachers were to me.
I think that physics is amazing because it allows you understand how the world around us works. What makes physics exciting is that as you learn more about physics you can start to draw your own conclusions about the world around you. I want to get more people to appreciate the nature of nature.
My appreciation for math goes hand in hand with my love for physics. This allowed me to acquire a broad understanding of mathematical concepts and methods. I very much enjoy doing math problems and am always happy to answer a quick question or two from my students through email, free of charge. This of course also extends to physics related questions as well.
I especially enjoy teaching physics and calculus because these subjects require more than simple memorization. In these subjects, there is typically more than one way to explain the problem, and each approach reveals a different aspect of the subject matter.
