What is your teaching philosophy?
There are multiple solutions to a single problem. Also, my education in engineering has taught me that there are different methods to resolve an issue. Teaching is my passion, and I look forward to helping students to develop interest in any subject where they need help.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Introductions, and getting to know the areas which the student finds it difficult to learn.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
It is important for the student to learn self-studying, looking at the right set of resources to guide them. This would make a student an independent learner over a period of time.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Appreciation is important to stay motivated. Conducting practice tests to track progress also keeps student motivated.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Give examples to learn the concept in a better way.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
Increase reading; more books, newspapers, and magazines would help better understanding. This would improve the comprehension.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Working with examples and practice tests.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
Involving them while teaching.
What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?
Small tests after teaching the material.

Discussions on the subject are effective to evaluate student needs.
How do you adapt your tutoring to the student's needs?
Once the evaluation of a student's needs is done, developing strategy to adapt student needs is easier. For example, some students may need more study material on a subject, or in some cases, practice tests are vital.
What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?
Presentations, notes, and flashcards.
How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
A good understanding of a subject is important to build a student's confidence. Also, practice after a tutoring session is equally important.
