I am a native Austinite who loves to be outdoors and actively exploring this great city.
I graduated from Westwood High School in northwest Austin. I have a Bachelor of Arts from Southwestern University, where I majored in business and minored in economics. I also have a Doctor of Jurisprudence from University of Houston, where I concentrated in contract litigation and consumer protection. I am currently an attorney for the State of Texas, where I practice financial regulation.
I have experience working with students of all ages. In college, during the school year I assisted the Westwood High School debate team. During the summer, I worked as a camp counselor at the Austin Nature and Science Center.
I enjoy tutoring students in math, reading and writing, economics. I also enjoy test prep for the SAT, GMAT, and LSAT. My favorite subject to tutor is algebra because it is something that will help you every day for the rest of your life!
My tutoring style is focused on positive reinforcement. In school, I always did the best in classes where the teacher/professor started each day with a smile and lots of enthusiasm. I was raised to believe that academic success is critical to unlocking numerous opportunities in life. I want to help students realize that hard work and a great attitude can make a huge difference in what you can accomplish. From middle school to law school- the most successful students I knew were rarely the smartest students, but the ones who applied themselves and stayed positive!
In my spare time, I like to hike on the greenbelt, swim at Barton Springs Pool, and play soccer with my friends. Also, I recently got a Bichon Frise puppy who is quickly becoming my new best friend!
