I am a teacher in Prince Georges County, I have been teaching for twelve years. The first couple of years I was a substitute from there I went into teaching in a private school which I enjoyed tremendously. My reason for departing the private school setting was due to stability, and my school was in the process of shutting down.
The county was not yet hiring new teachers so I went into charter schools until I was able to transfer into the public school system which happened in 2002.
I have enjoyed teaching in each setting because I enjoy what I do. I love children and watching their minds work and grow and could not imagine doing anything else. In 2015 I received my Masters in Elementary which allowed me the certification to teach up to sixth grade. Over my teaching career I have taught Kindergarten to Third grade.
As a teacher I know that it is very difficult
to reach every child especially if you have a classroom of 25 or more students with no assistant to help out, so I felt that becoming a tutor would be the best way to give a child who is in that exact situation some 1 on 1 time so that they can maintain, catch up, or surpass where they are expected to be for their grade level.

Graduate Degree: Bowie State University - Masters, Elementary Education
What I love to do the most is spend time with my family and friends. We could be in the house watching a movie or playing a game or we could be out and about. As long as I am with them my day will be great.
