I am a graduate of the University of Colorado at Denver, where I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Reading and Writing, as well as, Culturally Diverse Instruction. I have taught Special Education for 6 years where I was able to focus on small group and individual instruction, which I believe to be vital to a student's success. I have learned to adapt instruction to meet my students' needs, in both reading and math, through a variety of methods and programs. As a tutor, I can personalize instruction and make it meaningful and fun to learn! I have recently spent 6 months in Colombia, where I taught English, and I enjoy learning about and experiencing a variety of cultures. I believe that learning to look at life as a big picture is vital to appreciating education and I try to share this with my students. I also enjoy exercising, reading (especially science fiction), and being outdoors as much as I can.
