I am a computer science student at the University of California Irvine. I am working on my bachelor degree towards Information. I started tutoring from 2014. First I had a couple of private students and then I worked for Elevate Learning and right after that Oxford Tutoring center. I have an experience with students from elementary school up to high school. In between all subject I really like teaching Algebra because I think this subject is the fundamental subject for all other high-level math courses and also it is very capable in human life. I believe the tutoring sessions should be full of positive energy to get the student motivated in the material.

Try to get to know each other.

Build up self-confidence, and they should enjoy their time when they are on their own.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

By building confidence in handling situations where he or she struggles with problems.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I'll keep them calm and try some other example to help them understand the concept better.

What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?

Doing more examples rather than just sticking with one question.

How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?

By playing games, and giving them examples in real-life situations.

What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?

I'd ask them to do another example.

How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?

I'd ask them to describe a question to me and help them to solve harder one.

With sample tests.

I practice before I meet with the student.
