Hello! Did you know I used to write textbooks? A former Social Studies curricula writer and recent Brown University grad, I bring 8 years of experience in education in various capacities (instructor, editor, tutor, administrator), working with students ranging from 11 to 62 years of age.
I am also fluent in Spanish and freelance as an interpreter in varied settings. I've lived, worked, and studied abroad, as well as conducted research in the language. Plus, I'm familiar with many dialects (Argentinian, Caribbean, Colombian, Spaniard, Central American, and Chilean, for example).
Additionally, I am, 1) committed to the potential of education to transform both student's individual lives and our society as a whole; 2) skilled in the use of music, art, and other media for increased student engagement; 3) a meticulous editor/ thoughtful feedback provider; 4) a patient and supportive listener--delighted to participate in each student's learning journey; and 5) highly organized--effective in meeting student goals and pacing towards them!
