A little about me:
I graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry in 2015 from University of the Pacific and have since been working as a medicinal chemist at Cytokinetics developing drugs for heart failure. In Fall of 2017, I will begin pursuing a Master's of Public Health at Yale University, with the eventual goal of becoming a globally involved physician. I have extensive undergraduate and graduate teaching experience in the subjects of general and organic chemistry, and have tutored in a variety of settings including large and small in-person classes and online teaching interfaces.
I thoroughly enjoy helping people unlock new levels of comprehension in their studies. I believe teaching is not about showing, but rather, about asking the right questions and promoting critical thinking. I strive to guide students towards reaching their own unique realizations and conclusions, as a personalized understanding will last far longer than surface-level memorization.
Outside of the academics, most of my favorite activities involve being outside! A few of my favorites are rock climbing, distance running, mountain biking, and hiking. I can be enticed by most extreme sports, and always enjoy new challenges.
