With many social circles in my life with a loving and supportive family, I am a free-spirited being who enjoys associating with people especially when we collaborate as a team to reach a common goal. I possess an excellent interpersonal skill; I adore developing connections and relationships with other individuals and am always willing to listen and understand from their perspectives with an open-mind. I have an exceptional communication skill, both orally and verbally and bilingual and a half: Korean, English and well-versed in Spanish (6 years of Spanish education). Moreover, I am adept at being timely-productive in reaching my goals and pertain strong collaborative and critical thinking skills. My extensive knowledge and expertise in lab and professional settings along with my countless years as a motivated and devoted student can be used efficiently in determining the student’s strengths and challenges so that we can develop a sturdy foundation in his or her educational goals.
In regards to my educational background, I am a senior at UCLA and will be obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree in Computational and System Biology with a concentration in Neurosystems in the upcoming Summer of 2017. The enigma of precision of molecules’ structures and functions within their vast diversity in working cooperatively for a specific role has always made me curious and engrossed in the science field. Moreover, I have experience as a research lab assistant in which we focused in the comparative study of developmental genes by analyzing DNA sequences of regulatory genes and their expression pattern, phylogeny and evolutionary rate. Additionally, my bachelor’s degree focuses heavily on the computational aspects and hence, I have developed an extensive knowledge and skills in programming language C++ and Microsoft processing programs. I can input my scientific and technology logistics as well as hands-on laboratory work to the organization for further progress. I have a noteworthy problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities that will be useful in the productivity of the student’s learning capabilities since I am remarkably innovative and resourceful in broadening ideas or principles as a matter of “thinking outside-of-the-box.”
