I thoroughly enjoy tutoring, predominantly because I love to learn and understand the frustrations about struggling with a multitude of subjects. It can often feel overwhelming but I have confidence that students can succeed academically with patient and dedicated guidance.
At the moment, I am working towards becoming a certified teacher. During high school at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science, I maintained a 4.0 GPA, was on the Dean's List every semester, and earned recognition as a National Merit finalist. During undergraduate college at the University of Texas at Dallas, I maintained all A's, graduated as a Magna Cum Laude honors student, was on the President's List multiple semesters, and received the Academic Excellence Scholarship due to my National Merit finalist standing. During high school and undergraduate college, I studied diligently in order to learn and succeed academically, and I hope to be able to provide others with the same opportunity.
Regarding my tutoring experience, I started tutoring as a high school student. During high school, I was committee head for a local middle school volunteering program. Every week, I would help teach children in a variety of subjects that ranged in mathematics, sciences, and even reading. In addition, I was part of a group of private tutors in the subjects of biology, chemistry, and pre-calculus for high school students attending my school. While in undergraduate college, I was not part of an official tutoring organization but I did choose to volunteer to help my colleagues in biochemistry-based courses such as biochemistry and organic chemistry in addition to neuroscience-related courses. I could understand the difficulties that students had with challenging classes and tried to work with them in order for them to better understand and enjoy the material. In addition, I have worked with a tutoring company to tutor students from elementary school to college in the subjects of elementary reading, elementary writing, elementary mathematics, algebra 1, algebra 2, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, and ACT/SAT preparation.
