I am incredibly passionate about education, particularly the humanities. I believe humanities education is the bedrock for independence, creativity, and empathy, three things that are fundamental to living a happy, fulfilled, conscientious life. Through tutoring, I hope some of my love for learning will rub off, and teach previously disinterested students that learning can be fun!
I received my BA from Smith College, where I majored in film studies and minored in dance. The bulk of my studies took the form of research, critical reading, analysis, and essay-writing. As a result, the subjects I tutor tend to be heavy on reading, writing, and critical thinking. I love picking apart literature, and finding ways to help students find the strengths and weaknesses in their arguments on their own.
When I'm not tutoring, you can usually find me dancing, doing yoga, working on a novel, or fighting the patriarchy.
