I graduated from California State University, Long Beach receiving Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Completing my college program was one of the most satisfying accomplishments I have had, and that is in no small part due to the difficulty of the task. Learning new concepts and applying them can be incredibly challenging, and I understand firsthand that without adequate support, the learning process can be a disheartening one. As a tutor, I believe that it is not only important to learn the subject at hand, but also to learn how to learn. In short, my goal is to make myself obsolete when it comes to the needs of my students. My strengths in teaching fall within the subjects of math and science primarily, but I also have an interest in the subjects of English and public speaking. In my spare time, I enjoy inventing, CAD modeling, music composition, and writing.
Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
For many courses, it is important to take a challenging concept and break it down into pieces that can be more easily understood and applied. This is pivotal (especially for math and science courses), since these concepts build upon each other as the coursework advances.
