Hi my name is Manuel Jurado. My friends and co-workers call me "Manny". I graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL this summer. I currently work at the Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine researching rare Epileptic mutations, specifically in children. One of my major strengths is working with children. My mother has been a babysitter for over 25 years. I attribute my innate ability to work with children from her. I served as a big brother mentor for children for 5 years in Middle-School/High-School. Tutoring is something I love to do as I take sincere joy in helping prepare prospective students prepare for college and achieve their academic goals.

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
My major focus is addressing the needs of the student, first by working on answering their questions, and then providing my own insight on the next steps for further learning.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Introduce myself, quickly get to know the student, and assess the learning situation in order to determine the best course of action for future lessons.
