Hi! My name is Hugo. I recently completed my tenure as a student at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where I was pursuing a Doctor of Medicine. I tutored there and while in college because I have always had a passion for sharing my love of science with others. I'd love to work with you, understand where you are in your science education, and help you reach success!

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

I like to help students understand general concepts so that their understanding of the subject matter goes beyond the coursework.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I like to chat a little about the student's goals and discuss where they are at with the subject matter in order to create a plan that works for the student.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

I help students understand general concepts so that they are not overwhelmed by technical details. Additionally, I teach students how and where to access resources.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Using positive, encouraging language, and checking with them occasionally outside of the session to see how things are going with the material.
