I am a former NCAA Division 1 Student-Athlete and coach with a bachelors degree in Mathematics from the University at Buffalo. Additionally, I have a masters degree in education from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. I have been teaching and tutoring math for the last two years. I have worked in schools with students from all walks of life. I have experience in public and private schools, urban and suburban. Truthfully, I love math and all that it can do for us. I believe that given the right teaching, everybody can learn and enjoy math.
I have experience teaching pre-algebra up to calculus, and would be comfortable tutoring any of those subjects. Additionally, I have direct experience tutoring pre-algebra, algebra 1, geometry, and pre-calculus. I enjoy tutoring most because I get the opportunity to really attack the direct needs of the student. I am able to focus on the issues of the individual, without need to concern myself with a group.

Q & A
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
The first session with a student will be a lot of assessment. I need to gain an understanding of where the student is at academically, and where their struggles are. We will do some teaching during this session as well, but the focus will be on me gaining an understanding of my student, and the student gaining an understanding of me as their tutor.
