I haven't always enjoyed learning. As a student, I have consistently found subjects like math and science difficult to understand. The hard sciences have always been challenging for me, but when I went to college, I was able to focus on what I am good at, reading and writing. As a student at Virginia Tech, I studied Public Relations and German. As part of my education, I read, wrote, and edited hundreds of pages worth of material, covering topics as varied as the ethics of a documentary to the influence of German Expressionism on punk music.
I know from experience that not everyone is cut out to be an actuary and not everyone is cut out to be the next great novelist. My goals as a tutor are to help my students boost their grades, learn to think critically, become better readers and writers, and discover their passions.
