I received my education both in Africa and in the United States. I hold a Doctor of Medicine degree (MD), Masters degree in Public Health (MPH), and Ph.D. in Public Health.
I have more than ten years tutoring experience. I teach Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Biostatistics, Pathology, Medical Terminology, Medical Science,
Public Health, and any medical or nursing related subjects. My favorite subjects to tutor are medical subjects because it is easier to teach for me, with being a Physician.
As far teaching philosophy is concerned, I want my students to understand concepts being taught clearly and to ask questions. This shows me they understand what is being taught and are intellectually curious.
Outside of academia, I like to keep myself fit in the gym. I love doing outdoor things (going to the movies, music concert, sports, etc).

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
As far teaching philosophy is concerned, I want my student to understand concepts being taught clearly and to ask questions from me to show they understand what is being taught.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I would like to ask students questions on the subjects or topics being tutored to have a feel how much students knows about the topic or subject.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
I encourage students to study books and other materials.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I tell students to read only when they feel like reading. Students should find time to play and relax and enjoy. You should reward yourself and set attainable goals for your studies. Avoid stress and let your mind be worry free so that concentration would be easier.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I am good at explaining things and using illustration that would enable the students to understand the concept being taught.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Students are different from one another. The strategy that works on one may not work on another. Some students are slow learners while others are fast learners. My duty as a tutor is to identify my student and determine the best strategy that would work for him or her.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
Students don't feel bored during my tutorial sessions because students are excited about my sessions, and they are fully engaged in the subject being taught. I make teaching funny and lively.
What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?
I use illustration a lot to prove my point. I use pictures and images to explain difficult concepts.
How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
I reassure students that they will be successful. My students always do well in any subjects I tutored them. I have data to prove this.
How do you evaluate a student's needs?
As you begin to tutor a student you will get to know their academic needs and weaknesses.
How do you adapt your tutoring to the student's needs?
I have to conduct assessments on a student to determine their needs. Once the student's needs have been identified, I adapt my tutoring strategy to meet their need.
What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?
I use textbooks, internet search engines, and other resources.
