Hello, my name is Angie! I am a very fun and up beat young woman who loves the very simple things in life: rain, the smell of a dog, a warm cup of coffee, and a good song.

I have recently graduated from the University of Redlands with a wide depth of knowledge and excitement to teach the world!

I have worked for many after school programs where I was a mentor, a tutor, and a teacher. These organizations include Big Brothers Big Sisters and Girls Incorporated of Orange County.

As a very compassionate and intuitive person, I tend to know exactly what a person needs to hear in order to feel inspired and encouraged. I intend to bring this skill to every student. Hopefully, I can brighten their will to learn to match mine.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

Fun first. It's hard to learn when you're not enjoying what you're learning. I try my best to make sure my students feel encouraged and excited for their material! If not, I try my best to find a way that works best with their learning.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

This is the time for me to assess my student. I will ask them questions on what they wish to see improve and what I can help them with. This is a mutual relationship -- and I want to make sure my students are getting exactly what they need from me.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

Never give the answers. I will, however, always help them find their way to the answer. And, of course, lots of encouragement to do so.
