I have been a lifelong learner and teacher, and enjoy seeing the "spark" of knowledge take hold in my students. It would be my honor to help you with writing, reading and speaking English -- the most difficult and exciting language in the world!

What is your teaching philosophy?
The most effective method of teaching is to engage the student. If a student is taught problem-solving techniques and is encouraged to ask questions and practice, the learning experience will be enhanced.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
A part of our first session will be 'getting to know you' time. It's important that the student and I know a bit about each other so that we may feel comfortable and, most importantly, I may be able to design training materials to fit the student's needs.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Self-confidence is so important when learning. I strive to make the learner understand his/her strengths and build upon those. It is also important for the learner to self-correct errors made in writing, reading or speaking.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Feedback, feedback, feedback. As a teacher, my job is to keep the student apprised of his/her progress, to identify areas needing improvement, and to help the student set personal goals for achievement.
