Keep trying and make learning fun.

I would say "hi," and ask fun question about what they like to do.

I can help the student practice.

I would make a game out of it.

I help them understand what is being read by reading the story and explaining it.

The strategies I found to be successful are making the conversation fun about the subject.

I would give them an incentive; something they can have if they do well.

I would break it down to their level so they understand better.

I would tell them that they can do it; they got this.

I would find out what subject they have a hard time with, and then see what they need to help them.

Find out what method they learn better with.

I use a question sheet, or the student has their own materials.
