Teaching, coaching, and learning has always been a passion of mine. Admittedly, learning hasn't always come easy to me, which is why I owe my academic success (4.0 in nursing) to the teachers that believed in me, worked to figure out how I learned best, and they created a safe environment where "failure" was an amazing tool.
Thus, my goal as a Varsity Tutor is to do the same. I hope to inspire you/ your student, meet you/them where they are at, and realize your/their greatest potential. At the end of the day, learning is an essential and life-long task. Let's not just master it, let's learn to enjoy it.

What is your teaching philosophy?
"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires." - William Arthur Ward
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
My approach on a first session is to first identify, at least a little bit, who the student is, what they enjoy, and how they connect to the world around them. This forges a path of communication. Then, obviously, the goals and obstacles are identified, then addressed, and inevitably realized/solved.
