Q & A

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

I would encourage them to practice questions on their own and develop good study habits. Practice makes perfect.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

I would help them stay motivated by insisting that they should be persistent and do the very best they can, knowing they tried.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I would put myself in their shoes and try to target what is difficult, and find a better way they can understand it so they can relate to the topic in a more simplistic way.

How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?

I would praise them when they are doing well. Showing them I am proud of them can help boost their motivation. I would let them know it is okay to be wrong, but they can learn from their mistakes.

What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is there are many ways to teach a subject. Everyone does not learn in the same way. We can learn from the students by evaluating the way they learn and modifying our approach to teaching to increase comprehension of the subject material at hand.
