I am an experienced and friendly tutor who specializes in reading and writing in many different subject matters. I enjoy tutoring the writing process from start to finish - brainstorming to final editing.
I believe that all students can benefit from speaking about their assignments and letting themselves think freely with a tutor! This conversational tutoring is my favorite method because it gets students to think without having their “editing brain” constantly overriding their first intuitions.

Q & A
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In a typical first session, I like to take a moment for introductions - get to know the student, their interests, their struggles and strengths, and their hopes for the tutoring meetings. Afterwards, I find it most effective to dive right in, reading over an assignment and brainstorming, or reading together a finished draft of writing that can be edited.
What is your teaching philosophy?
I teach and tutor with the aim to develop each student's independent reading and writing skills. I make a concerted effort to work with students in ways that help them find their best study style, writing voice, and reading strategies.
