I have attained a BA in Applied Arts and Sciences: Liberal Studies, with a specialization in literature, from San Diego State University. I received my degree in December of 2014 with the intent of becoming a primary grade teacher. Currently, I am a substitute teacher for the Chula Vista Elementary School District and working towards my own classroom. Upon acceptance, I will be attending Azusa Pacific University in the fall for my MA in Education and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I have been volunteering/working with elementary aged students since 2009 and have been a substitute teacher for a little over a year now. I am available to tutor all elementary and middle school subjects, including pre-algebra, as well as study skills and organization. Reading and writing are my favorite subjects to tutor because I enjoy them greatly and believe they are my most mastered subjects. My teaching style is flexible and student-centered. I focus on maximizing progress by incorporating student interests and setting goals that will keep the student motivated and engaged.
