I am so excited about meeting new learners. Not just so I can assist you but I always learn from my learners. Each session gives me an opportunity to learn more effective ways to teach and instruct. I meet people where they are at, by focusing on their strengths and "learning language" the troubled areas vanish!

I have lived all over the country, that built confidence to be able to work will all types of people.

I live for that moment when...WE FINALLY GET IT!!!

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

I meet learners where they are.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I first pinpoint the way they learn and receive information. That is how I develop the tools they need to study.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

By helping them organize their notes.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

With constant encouragement.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

We would go over it in different ways. I would have the student "teach" it back to me.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

Constantly have them ready and write. I would have them explain everything they are reading and work on their fluency and decoding.
