"Math may not teach how to add love or how to subtract hate, but it gives every reason to believe that every problem has a solution."
My background is in statistics as an actuary, however, I have been teaching High School mathematics for over 10 years now. I have taught almost all levels from a remedial math through AP level statistics. I have also taught personal finance classes and GED classes. In addition to the classroom teaching, I have also provided tutoring for traditional, online, and home schooled students. During my tutoring experiences I have had the opportunity to work with students from 6th grade general mathematics through adults working on Praxis.

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
Every student CAN learn; some need to be lead outside the box to understand.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In a first session, I would like to get to know the student a little. What is their mathematical background, their educational strengths and weaknesses, how they learn best, what strategies have they tried that have or have not worked, and what are some of their interests?
