I'm a professional copyeditor with several years of experience in the editing field. I've been the managing editor of the past two publications I've worked for, helping my staff hone their writing to make their articles as clear and to-the-point as possible. I've used these exact techniques to help students write college application essays in the past. I'm also a fiction writer, so creative writing courses are solidly in my wheelhouse. I can help students not only write better, but also learn how to spot the trouble zones for themselves and strengthen their weaknesses. I take a look at the big picture, to start, and then whittle down to the details. A holistic vision of an essay or short story is critical to successful writing.

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
I firmly believe in patience and genuine curiosity. I try to inspire a true interest in the subjects I teach. The more interested you are, the more likely you are to want to know more, and the more likely you are to succeed!
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I would try to get to the root of what they need help with or figure out what they don't understand. I'd start with the very basics of their question and go from there.
