Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

Everyone's learning style is different and unique. As educators, we must be as open and versatile as we expect our students to be. For every problem, no matter how big or small, a creative solution exists; let's find them all.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Introductions, basic info gathering, a few personal likes/dislikes, and most importantly, what are the needs and goals here?

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

Show by example how to be an active learner. Share information and techniques to help foster the desire to become a driven learner.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Remind the student of the goal(s) at hand and the help available. Break things down to sub goals and sub steps if the motivation is lacking or falling short.
