I believe in education as a means to social and environmental justice. Vulnerable populations, such as children and minorities, disproportionally experience environmental and social injustices. Solving these problems requires a deep understanding of their root causes and inspiring others to commit to finding a solution.
Accordingly, I’ve committed myself to combating these inequalities. I chose to complete my undergraduate work in Environmental Science and Studies and graduate work in Teaching at University of San Francisco because of the university’s social justice mission. My choice to complete my graduate work at SFSU was no different.
Teaching children to be citizens of the world is one of the most important undertakings, and I believe the best way to ignite passion and commitment in people is through education.
