What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Simples games that will help the student comprehend the subject.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
By making them believe in themselves.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
By always reminding them that they set their own limits, therefore they are capable of anything.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I would try to explain it in different ways and as many times as it is required.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
A good way to have fun while reading, is singing. Playing simple games of karaoke can help one to read faster and comprehend what they are reading.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Keep the students motivated and make them see that they are capable of anything. Especially show support and that you do believe in them.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
I would break down the concept of the subject they are struggling with.
