I love it when students finally understand a topic and that proverbial 'light bulb' comes on as they shine through the work; those are great moments. My career goal is to be an elementary school teacher. I was inspired by my 5th grade teacher because he left a great image of how a thoughtful, engaging, and smart man can teach. During my pursuit in education, I have committed +1500 hours to math tutoring when I was Lead Instructor for a local tutoring center. I also have completed my Masters program in Education - Curriculum and Instruction. My time math tutoring and learning in grad school has enriched, enhanced, and encouraged my passion in being an educator. Also, I have completed the CBEST, LiveScan Fingerprinting, and TB test (negative result).

Q & A
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Keep finding different approaches that visualize, verbalize, or symbolize the difficult content in a way that can be understood. Always connect back with the student's prior knowledge.
What is your teaching philosophy?
Anyone can learn when given the proper learning environment. Quality teaching comes from using visual, auditory, and hands-on exercises that stimulate the brain. Plus, a student should receive unconditional positive support and praise for good effort.
