I hope to be able to use my academic and past tutoring experience to help students improve their performance. I believe in focusing on the process for the work instead of the specific answers to problems.

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe that it is important to both answer any questions a student has and help them understand how to do the work so they will do well on their own.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I will talk with them about their goals, work with them through a few problems to see their strengths and weaknesses, and introduce some ways for them to start improving on their weaknesses.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I would slow down to see what parts are more confusing to them and what they did actually understand. Then, I would try to relate that concept to something that is more comfortable for them.
