I am a passionate, diligent, and motivated student working towards medical school. I moved down to South Florida in August 2015 after completing my Master's in Molecular and Integrative Physiology from the University of Michigan. I was born in Atlanta but raised on Long Island. I attended undergrad at the State University of New York - Plattsburgh where I graduated magna cum laude with majors in Biology and Psychology. I worked for two years in clinical research in Neurology (and Neuro-Oncology), Cardiology (Electrophysiology), and Nephrology at Stony Brook University Hospital. I have tutored children and adults of all ages for many years helping them learn new concepts and skills. I have numerous resources that I have accrued over that years to help break down confusing and lengthy concepts and mechanisms. I understand that each student learns differently and the importance of adapting my teaching style to meet the demands of the student.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

As a student for many years, I have been on the other side of the table, where new information can be both intimidating and challenging. As a tutor, I strongly believe in serving as a mentor and coach, and allowing the student to work at their own pace. However, allowing a student to become too comfortable with new material can often lead to complacency. Students often make the greatest progress when their weaknesses are incorporated with their strengths. This promotes better material awareness and better concept application.
