I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies with a Spanish specialty, earning the honor of Summa Cumme Laude. During my undergraduate, I mentored younger college students in order to help raise their grades. After graduating with my Bachelors, I earned my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. During my credential program, I specifically specialized in English and have my English authorization through the state of California.
I have been an elementary school teacher for over 5 years and I have over 10 years of experience working with children of all ages. I have experience teaching 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. I have taught the longest in 2nd grade. During those years of teaching, I offered after-school tutoring and enrichment to students. I have taught and tutored students in all elementary school subjects. I have been teaching using the Common Core State Standards for 3 years.
As a teacher, I love working with students and especially love working one-on-one with students who are struggling or need extra help. I believe this is where I can make the most difference, which is why I love tutoring. Every child is an individual with individual needs. I strive to get to know every student in order to discover the best way they learn. Once discovering this, I can tailor instruction to each student.
I am available to tutor Reading, Writing, Phonics, Grammar and Mechanics, Elementary Math, Essay Writing, Spanish 1, Summer Tutoring, Homework Support, as well as test prep for the ISEE-Lower Level and the SSAT-Elementary Level.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, hiking, yoga, going to the movies, and spending time with friends and family.

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe in order to be an effective teacher, I need to get to know each individual student. I need to know their likes, dislikes, challenges, and strengths. This will allow me to differentiate my teaching to meet the needs of the student.
