I am a graduate of University of California, Irvine. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I am currently applying to medical school, with plans to begin in Fall 2017. Although I tutor a myriad of math and life science subjects, biology and biochemistry are my favorite. This is probably because those are the subjects I'm most experienced in and passionate about. I am aware that many students struggle in the sciences, but I know how exciting it can be when a student begins to understand the world around them from a scientific perspective. Helping my students to comprehend and appreciate science is my largest motivation. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, reading, and creative hobbies.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe in hands-on learning whenever possible. In my experience, concepts are learned in a more lasting way if students are able to use reasoning and discuss the material they're learning instead of simply memorizing facts.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

In a first session, I would get to know the student's learning style, goals, and their starting point in the subject. We could then make a plan for success together.
