I'm a student at ODU. I major in nuclear medicine technology. I love science and math and enjoy teaching others all that I know. I have 3 years of experience in education, having been a substitute teacher at a private school in Chesapeake. I have worked with peers as well as students as young as 5 years old. I enjoy helping others take on their challenges in hopes of maybe even equipping a future tutor with all the tools to share their knowledge with others.

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
My philosophy is that everyone is capable of learning anything, as long as you have a great student, know their learning style, and a driven instructor.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I must know my student. I would learn their learning style, fears, as well as what they are best at. I will then assess their level to gauge a good place to start.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
I will always share different learning tools with my client, based off their learning style.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I will remind them that there are different ways to approach a problem or concept, and that we will find which way works for them. I will also be my student's number 1 cheerleader.
