Hi there! My name's Nick. I'm a recent graduate of Oberlin College with a degree in Creative Writing and minors in Environmental Studies, English, and Politics. I worked for two years as a Course Writing Associate through Oberlin's Writing Center, gaining experience in both one-on-one tutoring and classroom lecturing in a variety of humanities subjects. I can adapt easily to a wide variety of learning styles, and I'm eager to find what works best for each student.
In workshop classes for my Creative Writing major, I learned how to guide and challenge my peers in ways that bring out their strengths and make ideas "click" for them. This is always my foremost goal as a tutor.
I believe that it's essential for students to be excited about what they're learning. You can only retain information and make unique connections if you're making a conscious effort to engage with the subject. Whether you're writing an essay or trying to make it through a history chapter, my aim is to help you dig deep and find the angle that lights you up. Then we'll pursue that light as far as it leads you.
