Hi! I have a degree in French and International Affairs from Lewis and Clark College. Having just finished a 7-month teaching assignment in Guadeloupe, France as an English Language Assistant in middle and high schools, I have gained a deeper appreciation for instruction of a foreign language. My experience freelance English tutoring in Guadeloupe and the U.S. has allowed me to hone my tutoring skills and patience. I have worked with elementary schoolers, high schoolers, college students, and adults. I believe a successful tutoring session includes time for the student to practice speaking and forming sentences, writing, listening, learning new vocabulary, some translating into and from their native language, and reading short texts that are accessible for their language level.
I am open to working with students to create a learning program that will match their interests and goals. I am patient, calm, and encouraging of my students no matter what. We'll learn and have fun!
