Hi! My name is Cecilia, and I'm a rising senior at Stanford University majoring in Psychology with a concentration in Health and Development. I have loved teaching and tutoring for over five years, and take great pride in approaching each student as an individual. For me, tutoring is the most remarkable key with which we can unlock the love for learning that is present in all students through individualized, supportive, and structured attention that recognizes each student's unique learning gifts and styles. I like to set concrete goals with each student, and make the most of every session with engaging and targeted activities.

Q & A

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I like to get to know students on a personal basis, and talk about what strategies have helped or hindered their learning in the past.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

Instead of explaining the answer to something first, I always ask students what they would do. Additionally, I like assigning homework that allows for a lot of exploration and growth.
