Within the twenty plus years I have been in education, I have had wonderful opportunities and experiences that have made me the expert I am in teaching English as a foreign language.
My passion for teaching and fascination for language began early on in life. Growing up in the very diverse city of Chicago, I was surrounded by diversity, culture and languages. I grew up in a bi-lingual home and understand the challenges and benefits families face as they enter the community, especially a school setting.

During my undergraduate program in Chicago, I studied Elementary Education with an emphasis on bi-lingualism/bi-culturalism. In the classroom teaching, I found myself in heterogeneous groups year after year, and found great joy in the beauty around me. My early experiences include teaching in a Montessori school, tutoring middle school aged students at the Boys and Girls Club, fulfilling the roles and responsibilities of a classroom teacher, and being an active participant in many before and after school activities. In the summer of 2006, I earned my TEFL certificate, and shortly after, taught English as a foreign language to native Polish speakers in Poland, to over 250 students of various age groups and language levels.
Upon my return to the states, I began working for one of Colorado's top school districts in academics and excellence as an English Language Acquisition Coach. I worked alongside my colleagues; teachers and administrators, sharing my knowledge on how to shelter instruction for students learning English in the mainstream classroom. I continued to grow professionally, earning my Masters degree in Linguistically Diverse Education in 2009. I have worked with elementary school students, middle school aged students, teachers, administrators, and advocated for the families I worked with.

At this time, I wish to focus primarily on teaching English as a foreign language. It is a priority of mine to provide quality lessons through thoughtful and intentional preparation. Due to my personal and professional drive for empowering my students, I assure you that I have the ambition, energy, skill set and positive attitude it takes to motivate learners in meeting their potential and more.
