I am a recent graduate of UC Davis with a BS degree in Food Science. While at UC Davis, I was a tutor in the MAT 17 series (Calculus for Biological Sciences) for over 3 years, and tutored many students in many different styles. I am very friendly, out going, and interactive with my tutoring, which creates a fun experience for students and aims to teach them not just calculus, but how to learn for the future as well!

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is to never directly give answers, and to instead teach students how to solve the problems so they can do them on their own and excel on tests.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Get a brief assessment of what the student does and doesn't know, and make sure to fill any knowledge gaps through interactive practice sessions.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Teaching them how to solve on their own through practice problems of varying difficulties to take on challenging tests.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Positive motivation and accomplishment recognition! Every step is a great one towards being able to learn and succeed on your own.
