I have been involved in education my entire life, first as a student and then as a teacher. I have taught students of all ranges, from elementary school to college students. I received my B.A. in Psychology from U. Mass., Boston, and my MA and PhD in German Language and Lit. from Northwestern University. I am in large part a generalist; I particularly enjoy teaching in the humanities and social sciences, but my very favorite teaching is languages, especially German. I have lived in Germany and gone to school there. I have also lived in England.
I want students to ask questions and to really understand what they are trying to learn. It is much easier to remember things and to learn things if you understand the “why” of it. One-on-one tutoring is the best way to assure this can happen.
Lastly, in my free time, I like to travel, visit friends, bicycle, walk, read, listen to music and attend concerts.
