In 2015 I graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a bachelor of science degree in biology and education and as well as the University of Southern California with my masters degree in teaching. I tutor in a variety of subjects, particularly STEM education, and I provide customized learning plans and differentiated lessons with appropriate scaffolding. I encourage all students to follow their interests and pursue problems in a way that makes sense to them. Hablo espaol.

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
I prefer to see the individual student.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Before the first session, I would have parents fill out a questionnaire so I can get a better idea of the student's learning style and find out whether the student is looking to expand knowledge above and beyond their grade level, or if they need to improve to meet grade requirements. For the student, the first session would consist of assessing them to determine their knowledge and skills on the subject in which they will receive tutoring. I also would like to know about the student's personal interests and goals so I can develop a lesson plan that motivates them.
