I have a BA in applied physics from University of Northern Colorado and a MS in applied mathematics from Colorado University at Denver, but now I am studying machine learning, data science, robotics, self-driving cars, physics of energy, engineering, and the mathematics required for these subjects: multivariate calculus and linear algebra, etc. I use textbooks and Coursera online courses. I've learned and used the computer languages, MATLAB (including open source version Octave), R, Python and LabVIEW extensively. Python I've mostly use for data science and mathematics stuff and so I often use the modules Numpy (makes it like MATLAB), Pandas (makes it like R), Matplotlib, Seaborn, etc. I've have some exposure to C and C++, but plan to take in future on Coursera, Accelerated Computer Science Fundamentals Specialization, which teaches basics of C++ at accelerated pace. I have many years experience tutoring math and physics and I taught college mathematics for two years at New Mexico State University and for one year at Northern Arizona University. So, I hope to be of help to students in algebra, (HS and college), trigonometry, precalculus, calculus, (AP and college), physics, (HS, college, algebra and calculus based), Python, R and statistics, (HS, AP and college using R or Python or graphing calculator). I have both a TI-84 Plus CE and Casio fx-9750GII and practice using both for math and statistics.

I enjoy hiking and love tennis. I constantly read tons of stuff, almost all nonfiction. I study foreign languages even though I'm not very good at. I don't care much for social media and in fact think it has many negative effects, but I do find YouTube videos fantastic in many ways. I use YouTube for learning foreign languages and linguistics in general and watching philosophical discussions and other things. And it's great for learning to do some home or auto repair, etc. But, like social media, but not to the same extent, YouTube tries to suck you in with suggested videos and so you can end up wasting time. So, as much as possible I try to spend time disconnected - no phone or computer - and try to enjoy and engage with the world that is right in front of me.
