Growing up with two vastly different cultures, I realized the significances of adaptability and education. Both cultures, Chinese and American, value work ethics and excellency. While calibrating the balance between the cultures and languages, I grasp onto the ideals of educational achievement can lead to real world success. I spend an essential amount of time to study while I was in school. The time I spent not just to finish assignments and chase deadlines; but I understand the importance to learn the materials and apply the gained knowledge into realistic scenarios.
While maintaining a decent grade point average, I also secured a tax preparer position at a non-profit program during the tax season. As aforementioned, I value the importance of transferring knowledge into skills and techniques. There is a sense of fulfillment when I am able to apply knowledge from the classroom to help actual, tangible clients to file their tax returns.
Being able to go between cultures in different languages (English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and limited Spanish) always to open my perceptions. Though adaptability is the key to go between the cultural barriers, I think passion and persistence provide me the motivation to adapt and learn. Loving what I learn always drives me to work harder and smarter to achieve my goals.
I am always passionate on helping others in my best ability. Being able to tutor students with the knowledge I learned from numerous classes throughout the years can be rewarding. I hope my teaching/tutoring style can benefit the students with knowledge, as well as a fun learning experience.
