I am currently a sophomore at Columbia University in the City of New York studying Financial Economics and Political Science. I have several years of tutoring experience from elementary level tutoring to AP and college admissions tests (SAT/ACT) with kids of all ages. I have had the pleasure of watching hundreds of students excel and realize their own potential.
I specialize in tutoring College Admissions and Essays Editing/Counseling, SAT/ACT Reading and Writing, AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics (and non-AP economics), and Public Speaking and Debate Coaching. I can also passionately tutor and assist students with any academic subject and Regents testing up to the 10th grade.
Whether we are working on elementary mathematics or economic theory my goal is to keep the content for the student challenging but not overwhelming. I strongly believe in giving the student the ability and knowledge to sufficiently be able to answer their questions on their own in the future. I am very flexible in approach. If students have a solid plan about how they want the lesson I am available to simply answer questions. In the past, students have also simply presented to me an area in which they need help and I created a lesson plan with work we go over together and homework to reinforce concepts covered.
I hold myself to a very high standard. For that reason, I often ask for feedback and look forward to discussing progress with parents. To ensure that students have a quiet and comfortable place to study, I have access to many places at Columbia University during the school year (September-May) that would be ideal as well as great places in Long Island over the summer (May-September). However, if it is more convenient, I am happy to travel to another location. I am also open to both group and private lessons depending on the student's preference. I look forward to working with you!
