Currently I am a middle school teacher in Calabasas. I have many years of experience with teaching and working with students and children. I have worked at summer camps with elementary aged students, and taught at an English only preschool in Japan. I have taught middle and high school mathematics (specifically Prealgebra, Prealgebra Honors, Algebra, Algebra 2, Precalculus/Trigonometry, and Precalculus/Trigonometry Honors). While living in Japan I taught English one-on-one with high school students and adults. During this time I helped to diversify and create lesson plans specifically tailored to individuals and their interests. I love teaching and helping others to understand difficult material and to see them grow as individuals.
One thing I excel at is creating real world examples to help students get invested in the material, or to help them remember unusual concepts. I also understand the importance of teaching "why" when it comes to mathematics, through proof or logic.
I currently work as a teacher, so I am only available roughly 10-15 hours a week: 4pm-8pm Monday through Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturday and Sunday. After June 3rd I will be able to tutor closer to 40 hours a week from 8am-8pm.
