I'm a college student at UC Berkeley, but I'm originally from the suburbs of Atlanta, GA. I'm the son of a professor and I can't help but enjoy studying with others and teaching myself. We learn best interacting with others. I have been tutoring for 5 years and teaching outdoors skills for longer. I love canoeing, backpacking, or anything outdoors, as well as playing music.

Q & A
What is your teaching philosophy?
"First among equals" means that we learn because knowledge helps us to better understand the world around us. I've spent years learning things that apply to my daily life, and I want to share it with others.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Everyone has some level of interest in education. I want to find out what that is so that we can figure out what we both are passionate about. I aim to be a resource for you, but first we have to get to know each other.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
There are distinct types of learners: I'm a visual person and I organize my thoughts like a picture on a page. In a one-on-one setting I can help you discover how you best organize information, and that teaches you to teach yourself.
