I'm a CELTA certified ESL instructor with five years of teaching experience in Canada, Colombia, and Italy. I've taught Elementary through Advanced ESL as well as Business English, English Conversation and IELTS test prep. I've also worked as an undergraduate teaching assistant for Health Sciences courses in research methods and applied health ethics.
I hold a Master's degree in Public Health as well as a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and Global Studies. I have lived, worked and studied in Colombia, Nicaragua and Argentina which has allowed me to become fluent in Spanish and comfortable with a variety of different Spanish accents. I also have studied Portuguese and Italian and travelled using my language skills in both of these languages in Italy and Brazil.
I enjoy sharing my experiences when teaching and find personalizing lessons based on my students' experiences to be a successful learning approach, along with a good laugh now and then! I am always keen to know what your goals and motivations are for whatever you're working on so that I can tailor the focus of our sessions to your needs.
